Storyline:
The two brothers Aske and Bastian live with their father, Lasse, in a world of fear, violence and alcohol but the brothers’ strong and close relationship means everything. Aske must serve his father’s sexual needs, as well as paying customers and his father’s friend, Hans. Aske tries everything to keep his little brother out of it all so that he won’t experience the same as himself. But one day Bastian is abused by their father. The brothers choose to move to Norway, far away in the beautiful mountains. Their friendship outshines everything! They are together and far away from their evil father…

This is a riveting film that I had difficulty tearing myself away from and am having difficulty forgetting. It starts with a young boy being rented to his father’s brother to be abused and doesn’t get any brighter, except for a couple of episodes where the brothers are interacting. The actors are all excellent, particularly the young man playing Aske, at the center of the film.
The whole film has a sense of inevitability, as though Aske has no way to change his circumstances. The change that does come is fleeting. The world of the film is unforgiving with only small moments of kindness and love.

Very deep and emotional. Kudos to the boys that did the ugly scenes! Very good performance!!

I’m a bit turned off by such a plethora of sad, cruel films; it is well done but would enjoy more happy movies.
I managed to download and extract files 1,2 and 7, but the rest had errors and wouldn’t open. Tried downloading a couple of times without success. Any ideas?
It is somehow confusing. I think you cannot extract single parts. You must download all parts and then you can extract the whole movie by opening part 1 with 7zip or other devices…
Many thanks. I thought it should have been extracted as one file, but inbuilt Samsung extractor failed to do that. I used RAR by Rarlab to do it properly. Thanks for the advice.
While watching “For My Brother,” I keenly observe a dark shadow that appears for three seconds from 34:51 to 34:54 (time duration). I know that this was a low budget and, obviously, (very) amateurish produced movie that looks like it was recorded with a handheld (un)steady cam from the 1990’s, but, seriously, better editing techniques should have been used to block the frontal nudity of the young blond man in that scene. Of course, that is if it was truly necessary to do that censoring in the first place. In the previous scene, we saw his testicles in motion from behind, so I am surprised that they are being so modest (and tacky) in the next scene. Are there any copies of this film that don’t obfuscate him at that moment? Interestingly, this is quite reminiscent of a similar technique used in “Visit To A Chief’s Son.” When the blond boy goes skinny dipping with his new friend, a black blob suddenly appears (as he gets out of the water) at 52:36. Damn those dark black blobs! Let’s start a revolution to stop them in the future! 🙂
That’s not added shadow, he’s standing with his hands covering his front. The shadow is his body shadow on the wall behind him. If you want him to move his hands check the reflection in the bathroom door on 34:31 😉
