Storyline:

While travelling to visit their grandfather, two children are told the story of a family curse that has lasted two hundred years. During Napoleon’s Italian invasion, Elisabetta Benedetti fell in love with French soldier Jean – but while Jean was distracted, Elisabetta’s brother Corrado stole some gold that Jean was guarding, and set the curse in train. The Benedettis become wealthy, corrupt and hated by their former friends, who rename them the Maledettis – the cursed. The childrens’ grandfather Massimo is the last man to be directly affected by the curse – but will he pass it onto them?

Storyline:

Marine Biologist Jason and his wife Abby goes to Pola, Mindoro where he is tasked to lead the rehabilitation and preservation of a fish sanctuary. There, he meets his diving assistant Dennis and the two hit it off instantly. As they work together, Jason learns bits and pieces about Dennis and his family; and Dennis is moved with Jason’s passion for his work. They also find themselves in contradicting problems when Dennis got his girlfriend Tanya pregnant, while Jason and Abby have been struggling to have a baby for years, but to no avail because of Abby’s illness. As days go by, Jason and Dennis develop romantic feelings for each other, eventually giving in to their sexual desires. But their affair takes an unprecedented turn when Abby finds out about Jason and Dennis’ affair and catches them in the act. Abby’s shock from her discovery made her illness worse, resulting in her hospitalization. Jason now has to choose between Abby and Dennis, and someone will be left brokenhearted.

Storyline:

Set in 1962, during the Berlin crisis, the film kicks off with the flighty Carmen and her kid brother Adrian, whom she calls Babyface, living blissfully happy lives. Father is a ceramist, Mom a generous, life-embracing Mother Earth character, and they live cozily, if chaotically, in a cluttered house in the Copenhagen suburbs. Their happiness comes abruptly to an end when their parents acrimoniously separate and dad runs off with his female apprentice. The siblings move with their distraught mother to the countryside, where they find a rundown, drafty cottage. They’re both taunted at school for being “townies” and different; Carmen responds by simply staying away, while Adrian has to put up with the bullying. After a while, he befriends a boy in the school, but this, too, proves temporary. Eventually, he finds the love he needs in the sympathetic arms of his teacher. An electrical storm brings ominous developments to the little family.

Storyline:

The film is based on the eponymous book, written by two former street gangsters – Grigori Belykh and Leonid Panteleyev. Film is set in the 1920s St. Petersburg, Russia. Streets of the city are full of the homeless boys. They are caught to be raised and educated at the correction school named after Dostoevsky. The boys are street smart and difficult. But the faculty stands up to the challenge. The teaches are being devoted and caring, and gradually win the respect of the most difficult kids. The school director (Yursky) is a refined intellectual, who becomes a role model for the boys.

Storyline:

Harry Keach has been widowed for two years and works as a bulldozer operator on a construction crew. Despite having a strong work ethic, that working life is cut short when health issues lead to him no longer being able to do the job. Harry has a strained relationship with his two grown children: Nina, who, with her insurance salesman husband, seems more concerned about what they can receive in material possessions through her relationship with Harry; and Howard, who still lives with Harry. Howard is an aspiring writer, but as a person who lives in the here and now would rather hang out having fun than find work in a steady job when he isn’t writing. Despite Harry loving Howard and Howard loving Harry, the strain in their relationship is brought to the fore as Howard can work but won’t while Harry wants to work but can’t. Especially while they still live together, the two have to come to a new understanding as they move into the next phase of their respective lives, Howard’s which includes his on-again, off-again relationship with girlfriend Katie Wilowski, that off again status due to Katie being pregnant with another man’s child, and Harry’s which includes Howard’s want for him to start thinking about women again.
