Storyline:
Jan, an itinerant male nurse from Denmark, takes a new job with Mrs. A, a terminally ill Manhattan woman raising her parentless thirteen-year-old grandson, Gil. Spending the summer by the shore, the emotionally reserved Jan finds himself oddly cast as a mentor to Gil in having to prepare the sensitive boy for life with his cousins in Florida after his grandmother’s death. A deep friendship grows between these two solitary people. By the end of the summer, Gil has developed a new maturity and independence, while the enigmatic Jan has revealed his own vulnerability.

Storyline:
Waldemar, a young man from Suriname, meets middle-aged Dutch woman Rika and they fall in love. In pre-WWII Netherlands they could not be more different. They choose each other despite the high price they have to pay for it. They have a son, Waldy, their own ‘Sonny Boy’. Then World War II breaks out and they risk their lives to save people in hiding. Storyline:
Denmark in the 70’s. The teenager Christoffer’s parents Nisse and Maria have decided to move into a commune because they want to try the alternative lifestyle. But Christoffer doesn’t like it and has trouble adapting. In school the others tease him because he lives in a commune. As a plan from the elders in the commune he starts in a Maoist group to learn about the real ways of the society. He doesn’t like it but when his new girlfriend starts to see what he does as cool he goes into it. But at the same time the police start to suspect him to be the terrorist who blows up telephone booths around Copenhagen.
