Storyline:

The area around Catalan in Brazil’s state of Goiás is dry, very dry. Sandro’s life here is somewhat monotonous. He works in a fertilizer factory and divides his days between the city club, work, soccer with friends and city parties. He has a purely sexual relationship with his colleague Ricardo. He always seems to be a bit of an outsider, not comfortable in his own skin, not really belonging. When Maicon, a man straight out of a Tom of Finland illustration, shows up in their small town and flirts with Ricardo, his burgeoning feelings of jealousy set a change in motion.

Storyline:

Haim-Aaron is an ultra-Orthodox religious scholar from Jerusalem whose talent and devotion are envied by all. One evening, following a self-imposed fast, he collapses and loses consciousness in the bathroom. The paramedics announce his death, but his father, refusing to let him go, takes over resuscitation efforts and, beyond all expectations, he comes back to life. After the accident, the scholar remains apathetic to his studies. He suddenly feels a strange awakening in his body and suspects that God is testing him. When his father notices these changes in his son’s behavior, he tries to forgive him, tormented by the fear that he has crossed God’s will when he resuscitated him.

Storyline:

Two boys, 11 or 12, perhaps brothers, take a rowboat from shore to fish. Andrea, who’s tougher, complains a lot, sometimes criticizing Felice, sometimes just complaining about life and his situation. Out of sight of shore, Andrea sees a suitcase; he jumps into the water, swims to it, and starts to push it back to the boat. While he’s doing that, Felice sees a man floating, face up. While he tries to grab the man and hold on, he knocks an oar into the sea. The boys are unable to lift the man into the boat, and without two oars, can’t head to shore. Will rescue come? Andrea tries to reassure Felice while also figuring out who the man is and what he’s doing in the sea.
