Storyline:

The film is considered one of the first of the new wave movement of Japan and the winner of the Kinema Junpo Award.

Storyline:

Storyline:

A young neighbor becomes suspicious of his new neighbor, John Gacy. He witnesses him bringing men home but they never leave, he tells his parents, who know something’s up and call the detectives. They then start to wonder if it’s really true while their son does some investigating of his own. He finds the bodies under the house and snaps some photos, he forgets his camera in his hurried escape and is kidnapped by Gacy while getting out of the shower. His parents get woken up by a plate night call from the detectives who confirm his son is right, the parents then realize their son is missing and his father goes on a rescue mission and barely gets there in time. Gacy is seen lowering himself into the Crawlspace and the movie ends.

Storyline:

In April, 1975, civil war breaks out; Beirut is partitioned along a Moslem-Christian line. Tarek is in high school, making Super 8 movies with his friend, Omar. At first the war is a lark: school has closed, the violence is fascinating, getting from West to East is a game. His mother wants to leave; his father refuses. Tarek spends time with May, a Christian, orphaned and living in his building. By accident, Tarek goes to an infamous brothel in the war-torn Olive Quarter, meeting its legendary madam, Oum Walid. He then takes Omar and May there using her underwear as a white flag for safe passage. Family tensions rise. As he comes of age, the war moves inexorably from adventure to tragedy.
