User review:
Elchin was at something of a career crossroads at the time of his death. Always conscious of his own mortality – the average life expectancy for someone with cystic fibrosis is roughly half that of a healthy person – and increasingly uncomfortable with the “rising star” tag that had stuck to him for a bit too long, he seemed to be edging away from blockbusters and more toward the esoteric, taking roles in low-budget short films and indies, as well as writing a script called “Travis” that he hoped to direct. Where his third act would have taken him is anyone’s guess, but that’s the most bittersweet takeaway of the film: It could have been just about anywhere.

Anton was an amazing actor, a vibrant personality and a lovely person. It’s amazing to see how much his acting personality and his desire to be the centre of attention was in him from the earliest age. His parents were great to nurture that. I missed Heath Ledger and River Phoenix and Corey Haim and I was incredibly sad to learn that Jonathan Brandis had taken his life, but of all the premature young actor deaths, Anton’s was the one I was saddest to learn about. Sleep easy Anton. You were really appreciated.
Don’t forget about Cameron Boyce
Oh yes, good point. I never really noticed him until after he passed, but he seemed like an incredibly kind and giving person. His death was also very sudden and sad.
How sad to loose such a great talent die so young, I’m discovering his childhood career and I’m amazed…he was so promising in Star Treck (Pavel Chekov)…RIP loved one!
