Hot on the Trail 1984
Le jeu de pistes (original title)
1h 34min | Adult | Video December 1998

Storyline:

Le Jeu De Pistes, also known as Scouts 2, follows two teams of French boy scouts as they race each other to reach an agreed destination.
The thirteen youths in this classic Cadinot film engage in all kinds of sexual antics along the way. Exhilarated by the sounds and smells of the beautiful countryside, sensuality is on the rampage, and these guys can’t wait to share their own big swollen treasures with their buddies and a few lucky locals, including a hunter with a big gun, a fisherman and his long pole, plus two farmhands with very heavy loads!
A must for fans of shorts, white briefs, and teenagers in scout uniforms.

User review:

In 1980, Jean-Daniel Cadinot created a little film called Scouts I, which chronicled the sexcapades of a troop of French scouts. This was never released in the United States. Hot on the Trail is essentially his sequel, subtitled Scouts II – Le Jeu de Piste (Trail Game). It continues the tale of a scavenger hunt in the French countryside.

The original French version of Le Jeu de Piste is ninety minutes. Hot on the Trail runs 81 minutes. The deleted nine minutes consists of nonsexual footage. For example, there is an extended scene at the end around the campfire. Since there are no subtitles, and they models are speaking in French, the distributor apparently figured that most viewers would not miss the cut footage.

That is the checkered history of Hot on the Trail. Cadinot fans properly find this to be one of his best films ever.

At the beginning, troop leader Denis Beauvais divides his scouts into two teams: the Blue Team (David di Lorenzo, Serge Laurent and Christian Bridon) and the Red Team (Frank Harnault, Didier Hamel, Frederic Sens and Pascal Duvey).

Frank Harnault and Patrick MantelFrank Harnault tastes Patrick MantelBeauvais has concealed clues along the trail. The first team to find all the clues and reach the final destination point wins.

I wish to order Hot on the Trail whici I owned before but was damaged. How to go about it, please? Is the format suitable for North America, both by computer and TV? How much?

  2. Tracey says:

do you have “Scouts”, the prequel to this?

  3. bhm says:

I am surprised to see so many negative votes for this one. I know porn is controversial inclusion here – but I think Cadinot is a qualified exception – his works are art/erotica IMO. I appreciate having this upscaled version – thanks!

Like I told before. I Don’t mind real vintage stuff, and even remastered/restored. “Bijou-stuff” is same kind of treasure like old boyhood movies is.

But the new porn is no no. That is synthetic soulless crap even new one and never going to be “vintage”, like these old movies.

I must say. Sometimes restored isn’t better than original. If original is good quality (for a time). File size is massive, but picture is blurry vs original upscaled by hardware (like expensive smart tv). So I prefer original (good quality) “700 megabytes” DVDrip AVI-files. BUT sometimes, remasterd is better.

Some movies, when remastered are same time cutted. Like “Wild tigers I have to known”. Original DVD-version is very good quality, if you truly have original. But Bluray version is cutted and director meaning is faded away. That is one example. “Summer in the Country” is four different cutted-version, and even three names. But I have the true original, without any cutting.
