Det skaldede spogelse 1992
Det skaldede spøgelse (original title)
1h 15min | Drama | 9 October 1992 (Denmark)
Storyline:
11 y.o. Jasper’s only friend, an old retired sailor living alone by the stream, dies. He gets his cat. A ghost appears. At the village school, he’s bullied by the vicar’s son, but there are also two nice girls in his class.
User review:
This is quite an interesting piece; fairly chilling for a kids movie. There are some enduring images amidst the sloppy storyline, but (other than the pre-pubescent nudity) for me youngster Patrick Ytting steals the show as the sadistic, cat-murdering, sausage-throwing, preist’s son Mourids. I happen to be fortunate enough to share a few film classes with Patrick and live about five minutes away from him. Its quite weird to have a conversation with greatness(!) Watch it if you know someone whose in it and they are prepared to translate it for you, otherwise go for a better kiddy tale; like the Goonies.

Better copy added.
@bhm this better copy, as well as the one of The Genesis Children, that you also added soon, seem upscaled with some video enhancing software, because there are some really strange artefacts and curves in all characters that are not immediately in front of the camera. See your face captures 4, 6, the very smoothed bodies with some strange curves in 7 and 8…
And?
I’m in agreeance with Feanor. These artificially upscaled copies are not true to the filmmakers vision and sometimes look downright weird. It’s fine to have them as an alternative, but it should be stated as such with the original film provided as well.
And I personally consider it tampering of the original film. It is not very pleasing to watch in my opinion, and not original. So “better” is subjective, you can put warning “edited”. But hey, it’s your site, you can upload whatever you want 🙂
Okay. I will remove this post. Thank you for your feedback.
Bhm, as always thanks for what you do here. I would not remove this post. I have not watched the “better” version yet so I do not know what the people that are complaining are talking about but I do know upscaling. I don’t think there is anything wrong with it. Since the first version is there and you have a better, upscaled version why not just leave both. People can always delete a version if they don’t like it but it would be a shame for you to delete the post just because one or two people or a few more people are of the opinion that upscaling takes away from the “filmmaker’s vision.” They have no idea if that is true. That is just their opinion. I guess you could say upscaling takes away from “their vision” of the film. Not trying to start a debate here but I think it would be fine if every time you did add better versions (which is quite often and much appreciated by all I am sure) just leave the older, lesser versions as well. The lesser versions may appeal to some and might also be easier for some do download as well.
One thing I do agree with Feanor about is… “hey, it’s your site, you can upload whatever you want 🙂.” And again, thanks for all that you do on here. It’s quite fun.
