Storyline:

Storyline:
Big Ben. Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square. St Paul’s Cathedral. Piccadilly Circus. The London that the world knows. But there is another side to London that remains unknown to the tourists, that emerges only at night, that comes alive in aging terraced houses and sprawling estates. It is a world of pills of dubious origin swallowed hurriedly and hopefully, of music with a thumping beat that you’ll still hear when you wake up the morning after, of Rizla papers bought from an all-night garage, of bottles of mineral water shared as love tokens, of greasy kebabs eaten when the taste-buds have long since numbed, of sunrises viewed through stinging eyes. It is close to heaven, but it is very close to hell. For Rat, a fifteen year-old drug dealer, it is the only world he knows. Over one night Rat’s world turns upside down as he finds himself on the run from older, far more serious criminals. We follow Rat as he looks for shelter with those he thinks he can trust. As each door closes on him, the likelihood of ever seeing the light of day again grows smaller.

Storyline:
15-year old Davey Younger is sent to Glenavon care home for boys in Wales where he is subjected to sexual abuse by two of the staff and a visiting magistrate. The adult Davey, married with children, is approached by television journalist Elaine Hughes after sympathetic councillor Tony Collins has ordered an investigation into the historic abuse but Davey is reluctant to dig up the past that he has kept from his wife. Arrests are made but Davey is convinced that any allegations against the magistrate will not be believed. However he agrees to testify against him in court, though the result is not to everybody’s advantage.

Storyline:
Gene and Finny are two boys who are best friends living in 1943, at the height of World War II. The idea that the boys will most likely be drafted when they turn eighteen is surrounding them, and they are practically forced to live their lives to the fullest. The two boys attend the Devon School, which prepares them for military life that they will most likely be subjected to. The film begins with a narration by an older Gene, traveling back to Devon some years later. The thing he wishes most to see is the tree, which had a great effect on the boys’ lives.

Drama about life at Rugby School in Victorian England. The headmaster is fair but not effective and life is brutal for the young boys because of bullying and it’s consequences. The acting and character development are good and the roles well cast. It’s a good adaptation of the novel and was filmed at The Rugby School.

Storyline:
Based on the popular novel for young adults by Frank Sacks, this heart-warming drama concerns Billy Hastings, an 11-year-old boy whose life is shattered after his leg is permanently damaged by a drunk driver. Billy and his mother Julie move to a new town in hopes of escaping the bad memories of the accident. Not long after they arrive, they visit a threadbare circus, where they discover a neglected horse. Feeling sorry for the animal, they arrange to take it home, only to discover that the horse is pregnant. That’s the least of their surprises, though; the horse shortly gives birth to a unicorn, which appears to have magical powers.
