Storyline:

Like a previous reviewer on here, I’m also fascinated by this film as it is about my family (my grandfather’s cousin was the father of the 14). My mom gets very cross that they set it in London when it is actually Birmingham though! Perhaps it wouldn’t appeal with Brummie accents? We are still happy that they made a film though despite the discrepancies. If the person who wrote the review would like to get in touch I would be happy to pass their details onto my mom as she has traced the family tree quite thoroughly 🙂

another remarkable find – thanks! Loved Jack Wild as a kid (about the same age)… sad tragic end for such a talented guy.
Jack Wild was one of those guys I adored when the show HR Puffinstuf came out… all these years I thought he was about my age. I wondered what he was doing lately (sadly, he died of throat and lung cancer in 2008).. come to find out he was 17 when he did HR Puffingstuf — which makes him 21 when he did this film.
This is the same gregarious Jack Wild that starred with Mark Lester in ‘Oliver!’ (as the Artful Dodger) and in ‘Melody’ (as Ornshaw).
I always thought he was very talented and was saddened to learn he had passed away some time ago, of cancer. RIP Jack Wild (1952-2006)
England had Mark Lester and Jack Wild — The US had Christopher Knight, Danny Bonaduce, and Donnie and Jimmy Osmond… Pros versus amateurs. Jack Wild died in 2006… typo….
Trust me…The US also had Jack Wild. HR Puffinstuff was much beloved.
