Sønner (original title)
1h 43min | Drama | 15 September 2006 (Norway)

Storyline:

Trouble starts when Lars, a 25-year-old with few prospects for the future, discovers that an older man is fooling around with the teenage boys in his suburb. A terrible rage is triggered in Lars, and he embarks on a crusade to stop the abuser. But it soon spins out of control, and Lars’ actions end up endangering those he set out to protect.

User review:

Sønner presents us a profound controversy of doing what is right and hiding what is wrong. Starting at a subtle tone the movie establishes the theme and the story by introducing the mid-aged man who has been having sexual relationships with teenage boys in the neighborhood. Lars, a 25-year-old who works at a swimming pool as a lifeguard, has the intention of bringing this man to justice.

As the secret unfolds, which I won’t spoil here, the twist inserts a different layer into the film, unraveling a more personal story. Often in movies do the characters find themselves reluctantly between seeking justice and maintaining a secret. The conflict arises when only one can be done.

Actors have given outstanding performances as the plot nears its climax. Overall, the performances are beautiful and realistic.

It’s all about what to believe and whether you are afraid, and thus, what to choose. The fear of exposing a secret is well depicted, and the actions that follow are reasonably organized in a way the film can truly be viewed as a real-life experience. That adds to both to the storytelling and the sentimental values of Sønner.

In another viewpoint, the movie is also about hesitation, and letting go of and accept the past. It is also about revenge and anger, which give the film an emotional angle that attracts the audience.

Sønner is a beautifully directed and acted movie. Its captivation lies in its realistic portrayal, and also in its organization and message. The theme is undoubtedly dark but it is still a gem to enjoy.

too bad you cant find something better than NITRO for downloads. Always a new issue with these people. Bad enuf they increased the premium feel now it’s nearly impossible to make a simple bank payment!

  3. Franz-Josef Haglauer says:

I fully agree with Luke! I don’t want you to find another filehoster!!

  4. Jack Dennis says:

I have occasionally had trouble processing a payment with them — for me, it was the absurd range of international options they present. I would sometimes click the wrong box. I found they respond with help if you email them. Good luck.

yeah nitroflare is expensive–you go by what charges a month plus a fee usually 7 dollars for 1 month and more for three months–so i dont pay for it often—rapidgator is what i use

  5. Manfred says:

Unfortunately you can’t understand any of the original norwegian dialogs due to the horrible russian “dubbing” on both audio channels.

    But thank you anyway!

  6. Jeff says:

    Hi
I dont have trouble with Nitro.
    Appreciate all bhm’s efforts
Also hate the Russian dubbing(like Manfred) on this and Underdog. Spoils good films. Is there any way around it?

I know right, it makes me wanna scream🤣🤣🤣

      Gosh, I had an external
hard drive hundreds of full uncensored movies, with original languages and great English subtitles, including this movie, and I had an awesome copy of Gossenkind with English subtitles, but somebody stole my hard drive.

Now, when I have to watch this movie with those annoying Russian people’s dubbed yelling over this movie, I really wanna scream😅😅😅

  7. Orion4 says:

The Russians have at least one mega-state owned company dedicated to the permanent audio over-dubbiing of foreign movies into Russian language, There are many, many thousands of such altered movies on the internet. Sad because worldwide, only 350 million people understand Russian whereas English (for instance) is understood by 1.5 +billion people. Yes, the Russian over-dubbing is very obnoxious to most as it makes the dialog unintelligible, ruining the enjoyment of the movie. Also, the movie file name on the net usually has no warning of the Russian manipulation, so it’s easy to download these compromised files with no clue that they are worthless, until you turn up the volume. However, when you do encounter the Russian audio garble, always check the other audio tracks, because on rare occasion, they forget to erase the original language track, so there may be one audio channel of the movie unmolested in its original language.
