User review:
A story about belonging…70’s social issues, still current fifty years on, sadly: the foster care system, separating siblings and the ensuing loss and grief; postnatal depression and the woes of inadequate treatment; racial marginalization and tensions all seen through the eyes of a 9 year old boy. Well-balanced by the warmth of a good foster cater, community spirit and hope. A lovely, heartfelt depiction: had to shed a tear or two. Great cast: Cole Martin’s (Leon) performance was brilliant.

Here is the complete plot. IMDb has cut it somehow…:
‘Leon, a mixed race boy older than his 9 years, is forced to take care of his blue-eyed baby brother when his single mother suffers a nervous breakdown. When the authorities separate the brothers, Leon is forced on a journey to find his little brother and ensure his safety, ultimate-ly finding himself in the process.’
