In the Kanba household, the grandfather Koichi lives with his son Shusaku and his three boys. Shusaku’s wife reacts in horror after discovering him having sex with his father. Shusaku is a biologist and explains to her that his father is the carrier of a so-far undiscovered virus that has infected the rest of them and made them want to have sex with only the grandfather. At the same time, the virus also prevents any of them from growing any older. After she leaves, the men takes turns having sex with the grandfather.
Satoshi is only in the fifth grade at elementary school. He is unhappy with his father, his perfidy and the company he keeps. Enter transfer student Kozue who is different and exciting. She is not just any different though. She truly is from far away and has a gift for Satsohi and the townspeople. The town grow close.
Based on a true unsolved ecological mystery, thousands of hideously deformed frogs have turned up in the waters of Minnesota. As seen through the eyes of a one hit wonder single-mother and her 11-year old son, a small town struggles with the unknown when the deadly mutations move beyond the ponds.
