Still, we like something more sensuality – a style that keeps sticking on our retina. But perhaps Schatteman’s choice is appropriate, because his unprecedented approach pays attention to his two taboo themes. Homosexuality on the white canvas – The kiss of both men is brought to mind – and relationships between pupil and teacher. The psychological impact of these social barriers, we see in the end when the teacher, despised and apparently a nerve crisis, bounces through the corridor.
